Description
Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to a busy Oncology Ward, consisting of 27 inpatient beds and 4 acute oncology assessment trolleys treating complex patients at differing stages of their cancer journey.
We treat patients in both curative and palliative stages of Cancer, deliver treatments such as Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy, and manage complex symptoms resulting from treatments or disease.
You will be a shift/team leader, providing clinical leadership and management support, developing and evaluating best practice within the department.
Candidates will need to have substantial post registration experience and will need to demonstrate competency in the administration and management of chemotherapy.
The successful applicant will be integral to the ward in safe care delivery and implementing change and providing clinical support to staff members, participating in supervision, mentorship and completing appraisals.
The post holder will be required to promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards and maintain a clean, safe environment ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control at all times.

Demonstrate highly technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient management including complex patient monitoring equipment management and frequent administration of invasive tests/procedures.
