Clerk to Governing Body
Are you looking for an exciting new challenge to supplement your current income?

Strictly Education is looking to appoint; well organised, efficient and enthusiastic clerks to support school governing bodies. Hours will be determined by the number of schools you are deployed to, depending on your capacity.

About you

You will play a vital role supporting the governing board.

You will be responsible for the organisation of meetings, record accurate minutes, and advise on changes in legislation, policy and governance issues.

You will be responsible for the efficient planning, administration and support of governing body meetings, including being present to take minutes.


Knowledge of the clerking process or school governance would be a distinct advantage and remuneration will depend on experience and ability to perform the role in full.

Comprehensive and regular training will be provided.


Governing Body meetings are now mainly face-to-face in school but most of the preparation and follow-up to meetings can be done from home at timings to suit you, within the constraints of meeting deadlines.

Applicants will be required to share examples of their written communication skills before interview. Induction will include the support of an experienced clerk mentor and relevant development training.
