    Job Description

    We're working exclusively with an insurance company, looking to appoint an independent Non-Executive Director to provide guidance, support, expertise, and an objective perspective to management on key matters of strategy, monitoring performance, people, risk, compliance and financial integrity. All directors must act in the way they consider, in good faith, would be likely to promote the Company for benefit of its members as a whole.

    Key responsibilities

    • Provide entrepreneurial leadership of the Company within a framework of prudent and effective controls which enable risk to be assessed and managed.
    • Setting the Company's strategic aims, ensuring that the necessary financial and human resources are in place for the Company to meet its objectives, and reviewing management and performance.
    • Setting the Company's values and standards and ensuring that its obligations are understood and met.
    • Challenging the opinions and decisions of the executive directors, cause issues to be fully and carefully examined by the Board, and contribute to the development of strategy.

    Person specification

    Our client is looking to expanding its existing portfolio in the UK market. The successful candidate will bring underwriting experience coupled with a successful track record of senior leadership gained in a consumer-facing regulated industry. Experience in digital transformation would be beneficial but not required.

    Candidate Experience required.

    UK personal lines insurance expertise

    Experience at executive committee-level or as a Non-Executive Director within the UK personal lines insurance market. The individual will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of current market trends, a track record of success and a network of senior stakeholders.
