    Description

    Job Summary

    Experienced trading role with responsibility to price and manage G10 FX risk as part of the FX franchise, and the implementation of its strategy for profitable trading at acceptable risk levels while developing further the market share of SCB with corporate and institutional clients. The role requires high levels of technical and market knowledge within G10 FX trading and experience managing risk in a client facing capacity.

    Responsibilities

    Strategy

    • To develop and implement trading strategy for FX across G10.
    • Actively participate in the market in order to provide the best possible pricing to our customers while strictly adhering to the banks and regulatory frameworks
    • Awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and model appropriate to the role
    • To provide an accurate and timely product pricing service to sales staff in order to meet customer needs at competitive pricing and to effectively manage the risk for customer transactions
    • To partner with e-commerce and technology in the continued development of our products and hedging tools
    • To manage the transaction and/or portfolio based risk generating in trading by measuring the risk and adhering to the defined risk management rules and processes
    • To share relevant market, customer and counterparty intelligence with colleagues in the SCB network in order that the Group derives maximum benefit from its networking potential
    • Build on and where appropriate build new client relationships in partnership with the sales force
    • To enhance SCB's reputation in local and international markets through personally demonstrating a high level of professionalism and developing mutually beneficial working relationships with agents, advisors, counterparties, etc.
    • Understand client/channel segmentation and client flow.
    • Ability to work with development, support teams, compliance

    Business

    • Ensure TPI is maximised in the G10 FX business.
    • Ensure we continue to expand the voice and EFX franchise within the Regulatory framework.
    • Awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and model appropriate to the role
    • Articulate and communicate trading strategies for benefit of our clients.

    Processes

    • Ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations. To embed Operational Risk monitoring as an integral part of the business process. Towards this, to effectively carry out the assigned role, if any, under Compliance Risk Management and Operational Risk Management Assurance.
    • Ensure that the business meets its obligations the prevention of money laundering under the Group Policy and Standards and under local laws and regulations.
    • Ensure that there are appropriate and documented internal controls and procedures in place.
    • Monitor the operation of such procedures and controls and regularly review them to ensure that they reflect any changes in products, systems, policy and regulations.

    People & Talent

    • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
    • Contribute to continuous process improvement and sharing best practice.
    • Lead and reinforce strategic change and ensure the organisation structure and people programs are aligned and geared toward supporting change

    Risk Management

    • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them
    • The ability to interpret the Group's financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures
    • Comply with guidelines as outlined in the annual dealer mandate
    • Timely completion of all e-learning, attestations and requests for information

    Governance

    • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
    • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
    • Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner

    Regulatory & Business Conduct

    • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
    • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
    • Lead the G10 FX business to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles
    • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
