NHS Senior Clinical Pharmacist - London, United Kingdom - Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust

    Default job background
    Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated individuals to join our team as a Senior Rotational Clinical Pharmacist.

If you're an ambitious and forward-thinking individual seeking to enhance your clinical expertise while honing your management skills, then this position is tailor-made for you.

If career progression is high on your priority list, we offer numerous specialised roles in our department at 8A and above, including paediatrics, antimicrobials, education and training, critical care, renal medicine, and biologics and homecare.

But that's not all - As one of South West London's largest teaching hospitals, we offer a unique opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge.

Our status as an Acute Trust ensures you'll be exposed to a diverse range of medical conditions, allowing our pharmacists to develop a breadth of clinical expertise.

Additionally, we're home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre, and our dedicated paediatric hospital at St Helier provides a valuable opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and encounter an extensive array of medical conditions.

As a Senior Rotational Clinical Pharmacist, you'll work across a number of different rotations, including critical care, paediatrics, surgery, and a variety of medical specialties.

Your daily responsibilities will encompass ward-based tasks, chart reviews, clinical interventions, working closely with the medical team to optimise medication regimens, patient education on medications, screening discharge prescriptions, and supporting junior or trainee pharmacists.

In addition, you'll take the lead in conducting audits and driving quality improvement initiatives.

During 6-monthly rotations you will provide a comprehensive pharmaceutical service, working towards expert level knowledge during 6-monthly rotations.

This position is full-time with a requirement for 37.5 hours of work per week, including participation in seven-day working and on-call rotas.

However, we are open to applications from individuals seeking part-time, job-share, or flexible working arrangements.

The GESH hospital group is a leading healthcare provider in South West London, comprised of St George's University Hospitals and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals.

Our vision is to provide outstanding care, together, by collaborating and working in partnership to meet the needs of our patients, and making sure our services are affordable and fit for the future.

As GESH partners the pharmacy departments at St Georges University Hospital and Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals are working together in a number of areas including workforce, key functions such as medication safety and education and training and digital workstreams.

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey.

In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.

We serve an area that is rich in diversity, with a mix of urban and rural areas, and differing levels of quality of life.

Together with our colleagues at NHS Surreyand NHS Sutton and Merton, we work to make sure that we deliver the best possible care to the communities we serve.

Together, as a Group, we will be the driving force behind the most integrated local system in the NHS.

As part of GESH collaborative work, we are working together on this recruitment campaign with Epsom and St Helier Hospital.

In the full job description, you will see clearly the full range of duties within these roles that will enable you to work as part of the pharmacy team and with the clinicians and ward based teams to provide patient focused, individual care for our patients.
