    Specifications Sales Manager

    Home-based Remote role primarily covering the South of England

    £65,000 - £75,000 per annum + bonus + benefits

    Permanent position

    Due to continued growth, an additional Specifications Sales Manager is currently required by a successful multi-faceted, well-established manufacturing business to join their sales team.

    Promoting product offerings to specifiers and operating as a partnership manager, you will spend most of your, time out of the office, meeting with key partners, existing and potential customers.

    This role acts as the bridge between the company and key stakeholders, including architects, specifiers, and designers. You will develop and nurture new and existing relationships, developing a deep understanding of client's projects and requirements.

    Supported by accomplished Technical and Product Development teams, you will work closely together with clients to identify and solve design, functionality, and cost-related challenges, aligning the company product range with the specific requirements of their projects.

    The primary measure of success for this role will be the number of secured product specifications across residential, hospitality and commercial projects.

    Experience required includes:

    • Proven senior expertise in sales, particularly in specification sales within the electrical, construction, or related industries / sectors.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage in face-to-face client interactions.
    • Customer-focused mindset, dedicated to understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions.
    • Creative and tenacious approach to securing company product orders in instances where competitor products are specified
    • Adaptability to leverage various communication channels, including face[1]to-face, video, and telephone meetings and product awareness sessions
    • Willingness to travel extensively, mainly across the South of England to engage with clients.
    • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks to maximize opportunities.
    • Target-driven mindset and be motivated by achieving and exceeding sales goals.
    • Ideally have some demonstrable success in building and maintaining client relationships, preferably with architects, specifiers, or designers (but not essential)
    • Preferably have a knowledge of electrical accessories, interior design, and lighting (but not essential)

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Market research and client engagement:

    • Conducting comprehensive industry research to identify potential customers and key players, initiate contact, and nurture relationships.
    • Visiting existing and prospective clients, offering detailed product awareness and tailored training sessions to showcase the advantages and features of the products and services.
    • Working closely with internal colleagues to produce the relevant documents to support your customer's needs.
    • Build a strong technical knowledge of company products and solutions as well as an understanding of the key competitors product portfolio.

    Partnership management:

    • Acting as a dedicated partnership manager for key architects, specifiers, and designers.
    • Developing and maintaining robust relationships, serving as a liaison between the company and their professional partners.
    • Maintaining up to date records of partners and projects.

    Sales strategy:

    • Using an entrepreneurial approach to win at every opportunity, building a "specification-first" culture.
    • Creating demand for all company products, driving the promotion of all partnership offerings and working closely with clients to identify and solve design, functionality, and cost-related challenges
    • Ensuring company products align with the specific needs and goals of each project.
    • Participating in local trade groups/networking events for influencers.
    • Meeting or exceeding aggressive growth targets.

    • Flexitime working with core hours of 9.30am - 4.30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 9.00am – 1.00pm (on a Friday). The office is open from 7:30am to welcome early starters and closes at 6.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 7:30am to 4.00pm on Fridays.
    • Subject to you working your contracted hours and your department being adequately covered, staff can finish from 1.00pm on a Friday.
    • Enhanced holiday allowance of 26 days + 8 bank holidays, totalling 34 per year with the option to carry over up to 5 untaken days into the following year.
    • Team Assistance Scheme: including a 24-hour helpline to support with wellbeing, legal information, medical information, and consumer issues.
