We perform the most heart and/or lung transplants in the UK and carried out the UK's first successful heart transplant in 1979. It also offers emergency heart attack treatment, sleep centre care and is one of just five centres nationally for those in severe respiratory failure. Based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus the largest centre of medical research and health science in Europe the Trust is at the heart of treatments of the future.     • Registered Professional at degree level either Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
    • Evidence of Post Qualifying Continuing Professional Development
    • Mentoring Qualification or equivalent
    • Specialist training or short course relevant to role at diploma level.
    Experience Essential
    • Extensive theatre experience and / or cardiothoracic knowledge including the knowledge and skills for assessing and interpreting complex needs of patients/ surgeons and anaesthetists
    • Ability to treat all patient/employee information confidentially
    • Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to communicate information verbally which maybe sensitive/difficult
    • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
    • Ability to work flexibly
    • Understand the obligation to maintain fitness to practice.
    • Ability to manage own workload working within codes of practice and professional guidelines seeking support as required
    • Able to concentrate in a busy work environment setting up instruments / equipment, checking patients in, assisting during operations.
    • Presents a professional image of self at all times
    • Take responsibility for their own personal development objectives and maintain an up-to -date professional portfolio in keeping with the requirements of any relevant professional body.
    • Proven evidence of resilience dealing with major cardiothoracic and chest trauma cases.
