    About the team?

    This role seats with the revenue management team in the Sales and Marketing department who are responsible for analysing the company's revenue performance including producing the budget and revenue generation activities.

    You will dynamically managing allocated routes to maximise revenue through balancing the trade-off between yield and volume and provide management information concerning the factors affecting performance.

    Your main responsibilities will be:

    • Manage a range of services to maximise the revenue generated from each service over the longer term
    • Create, maintain and share individual route strategies to outline the key objectives of the revenue management approach strategically and tactically.
    • Analyse tactical and strategic initiatives from across the business and implement actions to proactively manage yield, load factor and revenue
    • Implement an engagement approach to liaise with different colleagues from across the business to gather feedback on individual routes and services
    • Identify seasonal fluctuations in demand and ensure the appropriate forecast methodology is in place for each of the seasons
    • Design new functionalities and support revenue management software system development and implementation including periodic testing and upgrading
    • Upload and setup timetable and train data in S3P (RARS2)
    • Provide data support to the S3P controller during timetable uploads.

    What are we looking for?

    • Working knowledge of the principals of yield management
    • A self-starter who takes responsibility for making things happen
    • Able to work to tight deadlines.
    • Able to use data to tell a story, make recommendations and set appropriate route strategies
    • able to analyse and provide actionable insights across a variety of business situations and be comfortable in dealing with and presenting the outputs to stakeholders
    • Able to handle multiple projects and adapt to a fast paced, changing environment
    • Proven rapid analysis and decision making
    • Sound commercial acumen

    As a minimum, you'll need to have:

    • Knowledge of using Ventoux or other Revenue Management Software
    • At least 2-year revenue/route management experience
    • Educated to a degree level in numerical or commercial subject
    • Good presentation and advance Microsoft Excel and database skills
    • Understanding of the UK rail industry is desirable
    • Understand of revenue management system is a must

    About the location?

    As a hybrid role you will be able to work from home but will be expected to travel on the GWR network at times, and will also need to attend a minimum of 2-3 days at the office which is located near Paddington, London.
