    Health & Safety for Cleaners and Janitors Introduction

    This one day training course for cleaners andjanitors covers the main areas in Health and Safety regarding safe working practices in the use and application of cleaning chemicals appropriate safety signs and safety procedures.

    This course also covers the Personnel ProtectiveEquipment Regulations to be used to comply with the Health and Safety at WorkAct.

    Aims

    To raise the awareness of delegates to theirresponsibilities and duties under the regulations

    • The legal requirements of these regulations
    • Hazard recognition for cleaners and janitors
    • Exposure assessment
    • Order of controls
    • Safety Signs
    • Identify hazardous substances from their substance identification numbersand labelling
    • Determine what action to take when handling and storing hazardoussubstances
