    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Grade 4 officer to work within the Early Years, Childcare Service. You will be an experienced Early Years professional with support and advisory skills in childcare and early years education services. You will have a sound understanding of early education and childcare policy, practice and the relevant legislative frameworks.

    The role will: Provide professional support services to all childcare providers to meet the Local Authority statutory duties in respect of the Equality Duty 2010 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years Working in partnership with all key stakeholders to raise outcomes for settings as inspected by Ofsted and a contribution to improving children's outcomes at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

    You will work within a team that focuses on promoting equality and inclusion across the early years and childcare sector. You will support, advise and question settings around removing barriers to access of Early Education Entitlement and childcare places for children and families. You will work with providers to improve services, particularly for disadvantaged families, looked after children, children in need and children with special educational needs and disabilities. You will promote and monitor the take-up of additional early years funding streams such as Disability Access Funding, and Early Years Pupil Premium to inform ongoing work plans.

    The role will also support the planning and assessment of continuous professional development (CPD) needs relating to inclusion and equality for the childcare workforce and employees within the Early Years & Childcare Service.

    The successful candidate will be required to;

    hold a Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) with substantial post qualification experience including at the management level.

    have a secure understanding of early education and childcare policies, practices and legislative framework.

    have a sound knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Equality and Inclusion

    be competent in the use of information technology, and able to embrace technological changes and develop the skills necessary to apply it

    have experience of partnership working and liaising with a range of agencies.
