- Our client is experiencing a period of growth and new opportunities, and are seeking a Public Affairs Manager to join their wider Communications Team.
- The role involves managing horizon scanning and monitoring of the political landscape, advising senior internal stakeholders on necessary actions, and preparing comprehensive briefings for engagements and events with Parliamentarians and senior Ministers.
- The role holder will develop, implement, and lead the Public Affairs and Government Engagement Plan, and proactively seek opportunities to influence and shape policy.
- You will be responsible for developing a post general election public affairs strategy
- Develop, implement, and manage the organisation's public affairs strategy.
- Amplify the organisation's presence in Parliament, across the devolved nations, and in political parties, building and managing relationships with parliamentarians, decision-makers, and stakeholders.
- Manage horizon scanning and monitoring of the political, legislative, and regulatory landscape in relation to the organisation's work, advising the organisation on necessary actions.
- Provide and briefings for internal stakeholders including senior leadership.
- Work to develop and communicate policy.
- Raise awareness of the organisation's work to political and wider audiences.
- Strong understanding of parliamentary processes in Westminster and the devolved nations as well as a broad understanding of local government.
- Ability to initiate and manage projects independently while effectively contributing to team efforts.
- Experience in proactively identifying opportunities to influence.
- Strong communication skills including to both internal and external audiences.
- Ability to facilitate sensitive internal and stakeholder conversations to achieve consensus.
- Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders in Government, industry, and other charities and foundations.
