Line Management - Senior Support Workers, Support Workers (Supported Living)

Your role as a Team Leader will require you to effectively support and lead the staff team to ensure that an outstanding quality of support is provided.


Key Duties

  • To support all staff in your designated division, ensuring they are equipped to provide to service users a high quality of care and support in line with the requirements of their job descriptions by:
  • Acquiring and promoting to all staff, through everyday practices, a good working knowledge of:
  • Company vision
  • Company policies, procedures and processes, best practice principles and safe practice approaches including personcentred approaches, positive risk assessment, safeguarding practices and processes and also the promotion of principles of The Mental Capacity Act.
  • Presenting exemplary conduct
  • Providing regular staff supervision (every 812 weeks)
  • Ensuring staff are trained and equipped to do their jobs (in conjunction with Training Manager)
  • Monitoring of house systems and procedures including paperwork systems and practical approaches taken by staff to ensure high quality service delivery.
  • Reporting of any problems / barriers to the provision of highquality support services to appropriate persons and /or line management.
  • Representation of divisional concerns at 'Integrated Care Meeting' and also supervision and other team meetings where issues and improvement actions can be discussed and improvement actions agreed.
  • Sharing of On Call Duties (principally standby but also calls answering if/when required)
  • Supporting the Operations Manager and Rota Coordinator in the area of staff scheduling (rota) by providing accurate information which will ensure a holistic and effective approach is taken to scheduling staff in supported living houses across the division.
  • Supporting and assisting the Supported Living Manager, Operations Manager and Care Manager to deliver any / all necessary improvement actions across the division.
  • Contributing to Q/A (Quality Assurance) spot checking and reporting across the division.
  • Contributing to incident investigation across the division.
  • Contributing to Staffing Level Analysis and Recruitment across the division.
  • Providing additional Staff Instruction and support as required for staff in the division.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 12 months experience within a Senior Support role (Ideally within a Supported Living setting)
  • To have enthusiasm, a positive outlook and a passion for Support
  • To hold a clean driving licence/vehicle and have the willingness to transport service users in own car
  • To be happy to undertake Personal care duties where required

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of managing support staff
  • Experience of managing support staff
in the context of Aspirations policies, procedures and approaches

  • Knowledge of Aspirations service users, the strategies used across this organizational area, knowledge of policies, procedures and approaches

Contractual Details

  • This post commands a hourly rate of £13.39phr
  • This post is 40 hrs per week including Sleeps, Weekends and On Call.
  • Mileage paid at 45p per mile when you use your car for work.
  • Sleeps are paid at £59 per sleep.
  • All standard contractual arrangements apply.
