Description

I am a sociable, medically retired teacher and I live approximately 7 miles south of Jedburgh with my husband.

I require an additional person to spend up to 5 hours per day with me on a Tuesday and a Thursday; to enable me to have any support needs met and allow my husband to have dedicated time to work from home uninterrupted.

I have limited mobility and use equipment to help with all my transfers due to a rare degenerative disease that causes muscle inflammation and weakness.

You will assist with some passive limb exercises as guided by the physios, and support with the administration of my PEG feeds.

You will provide me with some companionship too, which will include spending some time outside in the garden/greenhouse. We also require some assistance with light household/laundry duties.

Full training will be given for all aspects of my support.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Assist me with any personal care needs, as required.

I need support with my personal care:
toileting, washing and dressing.

Administration with PEG feeds twice during your visit (full training will be given).
Daily passive exercises, as directed by the physiotherapist.
Support me with my interests and hobbies.
Spending time in the garden/greenhouse.
Assist with some light household/laundry tasks.
Ensure I am always comfortable, assisting me to reposition in my chair, if required.
Tidy up after tasks and keep the floor space clean and hazard free so I can use my equipment safely.

You will have access to your own vehicle due to our location.

Hours of Work
One person to provide support on Tuesday and Thursday each week. We will consider adjusting the times and duration of the visits to accommodate suitable applicant existing commitments.

Ideally, we are looking for up to 5 hours cover on each of these days, starting around 10.30a.m.

We would hope that you can also have a degree of flexibility to cover for holidays and sickness etc for the other team member who will be covering Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week.

Terms
- £12.00 per hour.
