    Job Position: Continuous Improvement Engineer

    Technique Recruitment Solutions is an engineering recruitment company based in Norfolk, specializing in the industry. We are excited to represent a globally recognized designer and manufacturer of electric process heating and control systems.

    A fantastic opportunity is now available for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a successful and vibrant team and company.



    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance processes and methods of manufactured components and finished products. Maintain standard work instructions relating to routing templates.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and value engineering, working closely with management. Document and log opportunities, provide costing justifications for priority, and prepare for tasking, development, implementation, and training support.
    • Implement new processes and methods, supporting them with Standard Operating Processes/Methods (SOPs). Offer training when necessary.
    • Establish testing/inspection processes and procedures, utilize cost of quality reporting for rework/scrap/waste reporting. Compile customer-related issues requiring resolution after final acceptance testing, collaborating with the quality/planning engineer.
    • Validate production routings/timings/item control, and assist in implementing policy changes. Actively participate in cost of sales meetings.
    • Manage all data and information related to discrepancy lists and punch lists.
    • Initiate Engineering Change Notes (ECN) and establish procedures to minimize non-conformance.
    • Manage ECN Register and reporting.
    • Review, investigate, and develop enhancements from data driven by efficiency reports.
    • Assess each section's performance and establish a mechanism to report daily progress to supervisors.
    • Provide a daily efficiency summary to the head of production.
    • Provide a weekly efficiency summary to the operations manager.
    • Offer coverage as needed for shop floor supervision.

    Key Objectives:
    • Enhance Routing/timings structure in connection with new procedures/rules and their management. Take charge of production routings and verify data integrity/accuracy.
    • Develop Standard methods/processes, work Instructions into a controlled document Standards Operations Processes (SOPs) manual for staff training and development plan creation.
    • Establish action plans based on material standards & usage/price standards for variance reporting.
    • Support the continuous improvement process and culture with the production team, as guided by the operations manager.
    • Create Project plans as necessary using .xls format or MS Project.
    • Report progress and workload on Engineering Change Notes (ECN).
