About The Service

The Service helps support the delivery of wider corporate priorities such as responding to the climate emergency and assisting with post-pandemic recovery initiatives.

It also leads on implementing the placemaking approach as set out by the Welsh Government through our policy-making and Development Management functions together with providing technical and professional support to corporate projects.


You will be working for one of the largest employers in Wales, joining an experienced and motivated group of Officers within the Planning Service, which forms part of the Planning Transport and Environment Directorate.


As a team we are passionate about protecting the environment, making a positive difference to the people of Cardiff and achieving real outcomes on the ground.


About the job
As Cardiff progresses our replacement Local Development Plan, you will also be required to support the emerging policy framework.


As part of Cardiff's Planning Management Team, you will also be required to contribute positively to wider corporate priorities, and support the management and monitoring of the Planning Service.


What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for a highly motivated, suitably qualified Planner, with significant experience in Development Management and Planning Enforcement. Previous experience of working within a Local Planning Authority at senior level would be desirable.
