We are looking for a Senior Engineer (Geo-Environmental) to join our team in Northwich, with opportunities for professional development and promotion to principal level and beyond.
We are looking for a team player with drive and ambition, a desire to lead and to inspire, and a dedication to delivering high-quality work.
Be familiar with relevant standards, guidance and legislative background to geo-environmental industry.# Produce project fee proposals and tenders.
# Understand commercial aspects of business and take responsibility for project finances.
# Check work of more junior staff including health and safety documentation, drawings, logs, calculations, factual and interpretive reports.
# Help produce template masters, identify and develop tools to improve quality and efficiency.
# Pass knowledge on and mentor more junior staff.
# Write Interpretive reports (including Phase I/II geo-environmental assessment, qualitative and generic quantitative risk assessment, ground gas assessment, geotechnical assessment).
# Management of earthworks and materials/waste management including CL:AIRE DoWCoP.
# Soil mechanics, determining characteristic values and calculation of foundation bearing capacities and settlements.
# Undergraduate Degree (2:1 or above) in relevant subject (engineering, geology, environmental, geotechnical). Postgraduate Degree or Masters in relevant subject (desirable, not essential). Full UK driving license (manual transmission).
Our Benefits Package
Competitive Salary up to £45,000 dependent upon skills and experience. Twice a year reviews/appraisals with salary reviews as you become more experienced.
23 days paid annual leave, plus bank holidays (3 days reserved over Christmas shutdown) Holidays increase with time spent at BSL/with promotions.
Flexible Working:
We offer every second Friday off (2FF scheme, opt-out available) giving an extra circa 26 days off per year on top of paid annual leave.
