- Provide nursing expertise in the management of patients undergoing lower limb Arthroplasty managing own caseload and not directly supervised.
- Prioritise workload and manage own specialist case load of patients autonomously nurse led clinic, ward review of patients.
- Provide a highly specialised advice, which contributes to the diagnosis, care and education of patients in this expert area of practice.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic investigations to support assessment, and prescribe drugs as required according to agreed guidelines and policy.
- First level Registration valid with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- 1st Degree or evidence of working towards
- Evidence of post registered education relevant to role

Job summary

The postholder will be expected to provide sound clinical advice to our patients undergoing lower limb arthroplasty procedures, contribute to an positive patient experience, and supporting the patient pathway in its entirety,
The postholder will work closely alongside and be supported by our orthopaedic surgeons and surgical care practitioners.
The post holder will be responsible to the Matron for the elective lower limb arthroplasty pathways and will work alongside the medical staff to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for assessing and planning care, provide clinical expertise to patients, prescribing, ordering diagnostics and developing appropriate skills to the management of the pre and post-operative pathways.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for the maximum period of 12 months. Where there is potential, the secondment/fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment/fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.
