Description
Required to fill this replacement post within the Gynaecology Department at St Jamess University Hospital.The postholder will support a Consultant led tertiary team offering an evidence based outpatient, ambulatory and laparoscopic urogynaecological service.
We run a weekly Urogynaecological MDTs and a monthly Combined Pelvic floor MDT and clinic with our colorectal and urological colleagues.
The successful applicant will have fantastic opportunities to help further develop all aspects of the urogynaecology service including advanced urogynaecological surgery.
Since introducing vNOTES in 2022, Leeds Teaching hospitals NHS trust has delivered the second highest number of cases in the country and looks set to develop and advance this service further.
The unit trains both Urogynaecology ATSM trainees and holds a shared Urogynaecology Subspecialty training post with Hull Royal Infirmary.We need an enthusiastic individual to lead in this specialist area, to work alongside the existing gynaecologists and help to support a growing team of advanced nurse practitioners.
How I will cost-effectively transform the urogynaecology service in Leeds in the current NHS climateThe successful applicant should possess MRCOG (or equivalent) and should be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK.
A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest is desirable.Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.

They should have completed either subspecialty training in Urogynaecology or have equivalent experience. Training, Research, Teaching & AuditShould have completed a recognised training programme in ATSMs in at least two areas preferably
Benign Abdominal Surgery:
open and laparoscopic and Urogynaecology and Vaginal Surgery.
Evidence of the ability to carry out medical research.
Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
Previous experience of supervising research by junior staff.
Evidence of continuous career progression consistent with personal circumstances.
Training to a high level in minimal access techniques, in particular laparoscopic skills, is desirable. Training in vNOTES (vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery) is desirable.
