Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Psychotherapy Department in Renfrewshire HSCP.The Specialist Practitioner in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is a key member of the multidisciplinary psychotherapy team and would be expected to provide clinical leadership for their professional discipline within the team and support psychodynamic psychotherapy developments in the sector and within GG&C.
The post-holder will be expected to work as an integrated member of the psychotherapy team to fulfil its key functions.
The post-holder will provide specialist psychodynamic therapy, which will include mentalization-based treatment, to patients, through working with individuals and in groups.
The post-holder will be expected to carry out psychodynamic assessment of patients with complex needs, arrive at a specialist psychodynamic formulation, and to communicate this model of understanding in a skilled and sensitive manner to other staff groups in order to support the patient's care under supervision.
The post-holder will also have responsibility for leading on professional profession specific clinical governance activity, which will include the setting and monitoring of standards of care in the service, responding to complaints, staff support, career long learning, continuous professional development, clinical supervision and the implementation of policy and clinical guidelines.
These areas of individual responsibility will be agreed with the Senior Adult Psychotherapist and Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy.The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.
