    Job summary

    Post : Band 5 Occupational Therapist

    Location/Base : CAMHS in patents.

    Job SummaryTo plan and implement individualised Occupational Therapy assessments,interventions and therapeutic groups to service users aged years who areinpatients within the CAMHS wards. To collaboratively work with service users andmembers of the multidisciplinary team in establishing clear goals andrecommendations that will assist in the recovery process whilst people are residenton the acute wards and during the transition period back into the community.

    Main duties of the job

    To work as part of an integrated multi-professional team, ensuring goodcommunication and working relationships with other professionals in hospital andin the Contribute to the induction, training or education of a variety of staff, students Maintain confidentiality and a high professional standard in client care at all timesin line with the COT code of To be prepared to work flexible hours occasionally if this is required to meet theneeds of the service.

    Education / Qualifications

    Essential

  • Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current State Registration Certificate

    • Desirable

  • Experience working in CAMHS settings

    • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience working in a mental health setting.

    • Desirable

  • Relevant clinical experience, such as clinical placement.

    • Knowledge

    Essential

  • Good understanding of the role of an Occupational Therapist in the mental health setting.
  • Good understanding of MOHO theory and assessment.
  • Good understanding of risk assessment.

    • Desirable

  • Understanding of local and national policy in relation to young peoples mental health and including the mental health act

  • Aware of the role of other members of the MDT.
  • Aware of the limitations of Occupational Therapy
