    Job Description

    The CMA is gearing up for a notable expansion with the introduction of the Digital Markets Unit. As the Assistant Director of Data Science, you'll lead a team responsible for implementing cutting-edge data solutions. Your role will involve developing advanced tools vital for important cases and studies, offering a unique opportunity to shape data science endeavors and engage with stakeholders.

    About You

    We are seeking a forward-thinking individual with a strong quantitative background, backed by either a relevant degree or substantial professional experience. Proficiency in leading data science projects, along with skills in machine learning, AI, and analytics, are essential. Effective communication and team-building abilities will be crucial. If you're enthusiastic about leveraging data for policy decisions, this role is tailored for you.

    Person Specification

    Some of the key requirements for the role include:

    • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
    • Proven experience in leading analytical projects
    • Knowledge of machine learning and AI techniques
    • Strong coding skills in Python
    • Experience in building stakeholder relationships
    • Ability to set strategic direction and manage priorities effectively
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven leadership skills promoting inclusive culture

    Experience in competition and consumer issues is beneficial but not mandatory.
