This is a full-time role based in Hampstead, London, with the potential to work remotely following the successful completion of probation.
The salary bracket for the role £55,000 to £65,000, with potential for additional earnings of £20,000 to £30,000 based on successful planning applications.
While initial responsibilities may pertain to sites in Hertfordshire and Essex, we are open to considering one day of remote work per week for the ideal candidate.
Community Engagement and ConsultationDeveloping and implementing a robust and inclusive engagement strategy alongside GS8's project team.
Promoting development proposals to a diverse range of stakeholders, including local authorities, community groups, and environmental organisations, fostering engagement and building consensus.
Organising and facilitating public consultation events, following up and coordinating meetings with local community members and stakeholders.Appraisals and Planning
Leading the planning process for all development sites, conducting thorough site appraisals to assess feasibility and potential.
Creating and managing budgets and programme for each project for the planning phase.
Conducting planning appraisals for prospective sites, offering recommendations on planning risks and potential, serving as a trusted advisor to the founders.
Collaborating with GS8's architect and design teams to prepare comprehensive planning applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Managing the submission process for planning applications, negotiating and agreeing s106 agreements and manage planning programme.
Extensive experience in town planning, particularly within the Home Counties, preferably with residential housing sites.
In-depth knowledge of planning policies, regulations, and procedures, including greenbelt/strategic land processes and local plan frameworks.
The ability to interpret local policies and identify challenges and opportunities within these.
Understanding of local council priorities and the ability to build effective relationships with planning officers.
