    Job summary

    We are looking for a clinical psychologist who is interested in supporting staff working with young people in third sector organisations.

    Ground Up is an innovative, mental health consultation and training service. The service is funded by the London Borough of Camden to provide mental health-related training, consultation and staff support to third-sector organisations in Camden that work with children and young people. Ground Up aims to increase the mental health knowledge and skills of front-line workers and also to support their resilience and wellbeing in the face of working with vulnerable and complex young people. The post holder will provide clinical supervision, reflective practice and training to (mostly) youth workers and volunteers and also to their managers. The post holder will also be responsible for overseeing the service, supervising a 3rd-year trainee clinical psychologist, managing relationships with organisations and reporting to commissioners.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will be responsible for the following:

    1)Delivering individual and group supervision to youth workers, volunteers and managers in Camden who work with and support young people

    2)Have regular review sessions with the management of organisations about the support offer and broad themes that come up in sessions

    3)Deliver reflective practice sessions to youth work teams

    4)Manage relationships with all of the organisations who access Ground Up support.

    5)Respond to and manage any safeguarding and clinical risk that arises from support sessions

    6)Collect, analyse and report on data for commissioners and internal reports

    7)Supervise trainee clinical psychologists and/or sessional psychologists who deliver the service

    8)Ensure the safe and effective delivery of the service

    9)Regularly review and develop the service offer

    10)Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for any safeguarding concerns that arise from the service.

    Salary £50,952 prorata per annum

    Ground Up:

    GroundUp is an innovative, mental health consultation and training service.     Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Professional doctorate in Clinical Psychology or its equivalent.
  • Registered as a practitioner psychologist with the HCPC
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience of working therapeutically with young people.
  • Experience of working with sensitive data and data record keeping
  • A working knowledge of safeguarding children and young people
  • Experience of working with diversity
  • Desirable

  • Experience of supervising other professionals
  • Experience of providing consultation to non-psychological professionals

  • Excellent IT skills, including use of full Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to prioritise workload effectively and work to strict deadlines using a systematic approach.
  • Ability to communicate well on sensitive subjects with a range of stakeholders in a non-judgemental way.
