    Fundraising Manager
    Location - Maidstone/Hybrid
    Salary - £28,985 - £33,102 DOE
    Hours - Full time
    Permanent

    One of the largest and well-known charities in the UK within their field. They work closely with communities and businesses on awareness as well as prevention.
    This role is Hybrid with some time in the Maidstone office.
    Responsibilities of the Fundraising Manager

    • Innovate and establish novel fundraising initiatives to generate new income streams, engaging and motivating corporate and community organisations to support overall fiscal goals.
    • Evaluate the impact and success of fundraising initiatives, considering financial outcomes, PR, and publicity, and utilise findings to enhance future activities.
    • Ensure that all undertaken activities comply with company finance policy, collaborating with the finance department to secure, accurately record, and acknowledge funds due to the organisation.
    • Maintain control over expenditure budgets under the role's responsibility, ensuring costs remain within budget.
    • Uphold the highest standards of data protection and information governance, capturing and handling information appropriately to maximise income and safeguard supporters.
    • Stay informed about regulatory requirements, relevant legislation, and current best practices in fundraising.
    • Implement appropriate risk management systems to safeguard staff, supporters, volunteers, income, and the charity's reputation, ensuring adequate insurance coverage.
    • Keep the Charity's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other internal information management systems up to date.
    • Evaluate and monitor activities and initiatives of other charities to stay aware of current trends, practices, and competition.
    • Participate in fundraising and promotional events, deliver talks and presentations about organisation work, and enhance our regional profile.
    • Oversee the existing fundraising events program, including special events, mass participation, challenges, and third-party events.
    • Provide support to event participants in fundraising efforts, ensuring maximum funds are raised.
    • Project manage events to high standards, optimising return on investment, monitoring costs, and maximising income.
    • Research and identify new event opportunities, collaborating with other team members as necessary.
    • Lead and support ongoing community fundraising activities, maximising all available opportunities.
    • Deliver excellent stewardship and ongoing support and motivation to supporters.
    • Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinators to ensure effective recruitment, retention, and support of Fundraising Volunteers.
    • The role involves travel to meetings and events, and occasional weekend or evening work may be required, with time off in lieu provided.
    • These duties represent the standard requirements at the time of employment, and flexibility is expected, with staff occasionally performing additional duties essential for the organisation's efficient operation
    Person specifications for the role of Fundraising Manager

    • Proven track record as a professional fundraiser in a relevant role or transferrable skills from a sales or marketing position.
    • Demonstrated success in event management.
    • Proficiency in using fundraising databases for selecting and extracting data lists for mailings and events.
    • Experience and comprehension of working with budgets and producing financial reports to showcase financial outcomes.
    • Experience in supportive line management, ideally understanding the sensitivities of working with volunteers.

    Essential Skills and Abilities:


    Outstanding written and spoken communication skills for engaging fundraising prospects, volunteer fundraisers, and community groups, conducting public speaking engagements, and crafting compelling marketing materials.

    Innovative thinking with previous experience generating creative ideas.
    Numeracy skills, understanding how to calculate fundraising ratios and measure the financial performance of fundraising initiatives. Minimum of a good pass at GCSE or equivalent in Maths.
    Excellent organisational and administrative skills to attend to project details.
    Sensitive and professional approach towards colleagues and service users, maintaining confidentiality.
    Willingness to recognise limitations of skills and knowledge and seek support from the line manager when necessary.
    Self-starter with the initiative to move activities forward and research other charities' community/corporate and events strategies.
    Ability to prioritise effectively and manage a large and varied workload.
    Excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, internet use, and database skills.
    Ability to travel across the service area and work some unsocial hours.

    Desirable but not essential:
    Demonstrated experience in delivering a profitable fundraising strategy and conceiving, planning, and implementing successful fundraising initiatives, including risk assessment.
    Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks, Institute of Fundraising's Codes of Conduct, Fundraising Regulator guidelines, and Gift Aid regulations
