    Senior Research Associate within Protein Sciences - cambridge, United Kingdom - Planet Pharma

    Description

    Planet Pharma is currently recruiting for a Senior Research Associate to work within the Protein Sciences team of a leading clinical trials organisation. You will actively participate in developing and providing analytical support for our Antibody-based and mRNA delivery platforms. This includes necessary capabilities for primarily emphasizing analytical, formulation and developability but can also involve protein engineering, research, CMC grade production, and process development.

    Main Accountabilities

    You will undertake a laboratory-based role within our Protein Sciences department with predominant activities listed below

    • Development and delivery of analytical methods for characterization with a key focus on analytical method development for mAb, mAb2 and mRNA delivery, UPLC (SEC, HIC, IEX), CE-SDS, DLS and Fluorescent assays and LC/MS
    • Design and execute experiments for Formulation screening and characterization, stability studies and use of Design of Experiments (DOE).
    • work closely with cross-functional teams, including CMC, Translational Biology and Immunology, fostering effective communication for successful delivery of project milestones.
    • Representation of Protein Sciences at various mAb2 and mRNA delivery programmes.
    • Critical interpretation of data to draw results-driven conclusions and define project progression.

    Requirements and Experience

    A motivated individual who enjoys working in the lab, highly skilled in analytical characterization. You will be proactive, enjoy troubleshooting and be a strong team player. We're looking for someone adaptable, keen to learn, and enthusiastic about analytical characterization to support the development of various platforms. You'll be organised with strong attention to detail and confident in delivering work within a cross-functional project team. Your communication and collaboration will enable effective working within teams.

    Essential

    • BSc or MSc in relevant subject with 2-3 years of industry experience.
    • Demonstrated hands-on experience in method development and application of Liquid Chromatography (LC) techniques including UHPLC (SEC, HIC, IEX) and or LC-MS (Intact mass and peptide map).
    • Experience in performing routine analyses such as CE-SDS, DLS and iCIEF
    • Demonstrated and good knowledge of protein and mRNA drug delivery platforms their biophysical properties and stability.
    • Demonstrated scientific credibility and ability to interpret complex data.
    • Team player with the ability to work in cross-functional teams with different skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Awareness of technical advances within the industry and implementation where applicable
