- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments related to operations, financial services and electronic payments to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Develop and update compliance policies, procedures and controls to reflect changes to regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities - developing strategies to mitigate them
- Develop and deliver compliance training programmes to employees across the business
- Perform regular compliance reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of controls and procedures, recommending remedial actions as necessary
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and examinations and establish positive working relationships with regulatory authorities
- Lead investigations into compliance breaches or incidents and develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Evaluate the compliance posture of third party vendors and service providers
- Collaborate closely across departments including legal, risk management, operations and IT to address compliance-related issues and initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance within financial services, preferably an EMI or payments institution.
- Thorough understanding of relevant regulations and guidelines governing EMIs, electronic payments, AML/CTF, data privacy and consumer protection
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex regulatory requirements and develop practical compliance solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven track record of effectively managing compliance programmes and projects, including risk assessments, training, monitoring and reporting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong commitment to integrity and ethical conduct
