    The Role

    This is an exciting time to join this impressive company who are transforming its operating model by centralising data management, this is a key initiative, and this is your chance to be part of building a new team.

    The Data Manger is a key team member, and will help operationalise strategy, working closely with data owners in the business and third-party vendors who will provide the platforms, data sets and associated specialists.

    The focus of the role will be on data governance, data controls and business partnering. Initially looking at investments data across a wide range of asset classes and working with third parties who typically provide platforms and assured data sets.

    What you'll be doing:

    • implement, and oversee data governance, building the structure and processes that ensure the accuracy, availability, and consistency of Brunel data.
    • and implement the data strategy roadmap, through assessment, analysis and implementation of tools, systems, and platforms (e.g. an Enterprise Data Management solution).
    • the development of a data management, support, and governance framework, defining and agreeing SLAs, overseeing the resolution of issues, and managing escalations.
    • and maintain excellent working relationships across the business and with third party data and platform providers
    • as business partner for key projects, ensuring data architecture requirements are embedded into the design of any solutions. To work with data owners and data operators to support them in their goals
    • the internal control environment by monitoring of controls relating to data governance and highlighting risks & opportunities
    • support client reporting data provisions, including year-end audits

    Bespoke Requirements for this role

    • years' experience in a Data Management role within financial services, preferably in Asset Management
    • of Listed (and ideally Private Markets) investment information, particularly accounting and performance calculated data.
    • of using and/or implementing data platforms, particularly the supply of data feeds for investments and the tools/vendor that utilise and produce this (eg Factset, Bloomberg)
    • with data modelling, data management and data governance principles and practises.
    • in designing and implementing end to end data reconciliations.
    • in Master Data Management, developing and overseeing the processes necessary to support data quality.
    • a background knowledge of database languages such as SQL
    • with or interest in RI/ESG reporting practises and principles.
    • of working in framework delivering system enhancements, eg development lifecycles.
    • in MS Office packages, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • a relevant degree, such as Computer or Data Science.
    • and will embrace and protect Brunel's values and culture.
    • a strong communicator with excellent presentational and written skills.
    • of diversity and responsible investment.
