    Description
    We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Christchurch team

    As our Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for assist in introduction of new products to production, support current production and ensure services are available to production at all times.

    The successful candidate will need to have basic Knowledge of material processing processes – plastic injection moulding, rubber moulding, metal casting, metal finishing

    Assist in Introduction of new products to production
    Actively work with Engineering on all DFM/testability/manufacturability issues and design of new products
    Develop new manufacturing processes and build guides
    Layout manufacturing cells with all tooling and services for one piece flow
    Be Production main contact in Project Core Teams
    Support Current Production
    Suggest and implement improvements to current production processes
    Investigate and solve manufacturing problems
    Investigate Quality problems caused by build and external suppliers
    Identify new production methods and tooling
    Recommend improvements to existing methods of manufacture
    Ensure that existing cellular production is balanced
    Update Existing Build guides in line with improvements and Engineering changes
    Assist in factory layout moves
    Ensure services available to production at all times
    HNC/Degree Engineering discipline (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Electronics)
    ~1-3 years experience in a similar role in medium/high volume Electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
    ~ Awareness of modern manufacturing philosophies and techniques
    ~ Basic Knowledge of material processing processes – plastic injection moulding, rubber moulding, metal casting, metal finishing
    ~ Curtiss-Wright Industrial Division, which includes the product brands of Arens Controls, Penny & Giles, PG Drives Technology and Williams Controls, is an excellent supplier in providing components and sub-systems which enable customer specific solutions for on- and off-highway vehicles. These include medium- and heavy-duty trucks, buses and motor coaches, construction and agricultural vehicles, materials handling, and other specialty vehicles, as well as sophisticated wheelchairs and scooters for medical mobility.

    We develop and manufacture electronic throttle controls, transmission shifters and sensors for commercial off-highway equipment and heavy trucks, helping to address the long-term trend towards attaining higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

    We also supply operator controls and advanced motor controllers for hybrid and electric vehicles, such as buses, forklift trucks, pallet stackers, wheelchairs, and rehabilitation chairs.
