    Job summary

    The Care Plus Groups AdultNeurodiversity (ND) Services include various specialist community teams,including: a Learning Disability (LD) Psychological Therapy Service to supportthe mental health needs of learning disabled individuals; an Intensive SupportTeam to support individuals with complex needs and behaviours of concern; aCommunity Learning Disability Team to support the physical health of learningdisabled adults and Carers Support needs; an Adult Autism (no-LD) Service(AAS) and ADHD Service, which provides both diagnostic assessments and a fullrange of post-diagnostic support; and a Forensic Outreach Liaison Service(FOLS) to support autistic and/or learning disabled adults who are at risk ofoffending or who have an offending history to live safely within their localcommunity.

    All our Adult Neurodiversity Servicesfollow a proven person-centred, needs-led approach to delivering support toindividuals, their families, carers, supporters and other services andprofessionals involved in their care.

    We have an opportunity for a Speech &Language Therapist to work within the Adult Learning Disabilities Service inNorth East Lincolnshire. This role is communitybased and will involve a caseload for both swallowing and communication,therefore supervision and training towards the treatment of dysphagia will beoffered as required.

    You will be working in ourmulti-disciplinary team which has grown in numbers and disciplines over theyears and is a friendly, enthusiastic team, enabling a person centred, holisticapproach to intervention.

    You will be working alongside a Highly Specialist Speech and LanguageTherapist and the wider multidisciplinary team which includes physiotherapy,occupational therapy, nursing, clinical psychology and psychiatry. North EastLincolnshire continues to progress with new developments within the field oflearning disability, developing a diverse, challenging and excitingagenda. The area continues to striveforward with improving the lives of adults with learning disabilities. We work with carers, other organisations,staff and, most important of all, we listen to what people with learningdisabilities say what they want and what is important to them.

  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Recognised degree/diploma in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC Registered
  • Registered member of RCSLT
  • Postgraduate dysphagia training and competencies or required to complete on appointment
  • Desirable

  • Relevant accredited courses
  • Membership of relevant clinical excellence networks
  • CPD, especially related to specialist area
  • Experience

  • Broad knowledge of current best practice
  • Ability to recognise own professional limitations and seek appropriate supervision
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Able to manage own caseload and prioritise
