    . Working within the Global Internals & Proprietary Equipment (IPE) team you will be responsible for project execution from assessment of client requirements through to project completion for both internal and external Process Systems customers. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will assist them in the execution of larger projects, as well as managing a number of smaller projects directly. Integral to this will be communicating effectively with suppliers, partner manufacturers and clients; oversee manufacturing processes and trial assemblies and supervising local workforce, in offshore locations, to ensure high quality and safe installations of new equipment.

    Key to this role will be your effective decision making skills and the ability to communicate project information to relevant internal and external parties. You will take a proactive approach to understanding the market and communicating changes to the Head of Operations to adapt the strategy to ensure the desired outcome for the project. You will be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through the variety of projects.

  • Project Engineer IPE projects from the Tender Handover to delivery & close out, either solely or under Project Manager
  • Establish and implement client specific project objectives and requirements
  • Ensure that Company procedures and standards are maintained on all projects
  • Ascertain requirements for IPE equipment. Effectively transfer information to internal and externals interested parties
  • Review / delegate project related activities to project team to meet schedule requirements
  • Arrange and co-ordinate regular internal project review meetings
  • Monitor internal project budgets and assist Financial Manager with invoicing, project costings and general summaries
  • Reporting of projects to third parties in the form of written reports & presentations at clients' premises, in the office and remotely
  • Front End Engineering – assessment of client's requirements, creation of solutions options, design briefs, functional descriptions, sourcing and preparation of budget book cost estimates, developing equipment layouts, PFDs, cost benefit analysis for options
  • Scheduling – preparation and tracking of project schedules on both the macro (. project overview) and micro (. 24hr shutdown task breakdown) scale
  • Procurement – preparation of tender specifications for equipment and services, commercial and technical tender evaluation including preparing responses to bidders' technical queries, recommendations for purchase, and purchase orders
  • Expediting – liaison with sub-vendors both domestic and international to ensure the timely compliance of orders to stringent quality and schedule requirements
  • Fabrication monitoring - visits and liaison with fabrication sub-vendors to monitor progress of fabrication. Involves answering technical queries, receiving feedback on schedule, and ensuring the fabrication phases meet schedule and quality requirements
  • Reporting – maintain regular project status reporting to internal and external clients as required to maintain the flow of information and to ensure project schedule is met. This function will require formal documentation submission as well as regular client interfacing by teleconference and meetings
  • Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained when representing NOV
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department
  • Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy
  • Be fully familiar and fully conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times
  • Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
  • Occasional travel as and when required
