    Description
    We are seeking a Head of English at Twynham School to join our exciting journey.
    This is a rare opportunity to join our organisation working as a Head of English at Twynham School.

    You will be part of a leadership group leading English across both of our schools with a particular responsibility for the department at Twynham School.

    Lead a strong and experienced English department alongside the Director of English
    Further improve the outcomes for students in English at Twynham School
    Further shape the English curriculum in all key stages to ensure that it is exciting and challenging
    An honours degree (or equivalent) in English or a related discipline
    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Proven experience of improving outcomes for students in English as a classroom teacher
    Successful experience of teaching English across Key Stage 3-4 in a state 11-16 or 11-18 school

    Acute understanding of the current Ofsted framework and the application of the Quality of Education judgement within the English curriculum.

    First class or Upper second-class degree in English or a related discipline
    A background of working in a department with" above average" progress data
    Successful teaching experience of A-level English
    Experience of involvement in successful (good or outstanding) Ofsted inspection
    Ability to drive and access to own car
