Job Role: Laboratory Technician

Contract: 6 months

Location: Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire

Salary: £11.70 per hour

SRG are working with a Multinational Petcare company to help them find a Laboratory Technician to join their busy team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic biomedical science graduate (or related field) with some industrial experience or looking for their first role.

Key Responsibilities will include:

under the guidance of the Research Support Team Leader to ensure trial requests are effectively carried out.
weekly research support team meetings.
and adhering to risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
a variety of flavour solutions for in vivo testing in cats and dogs.
of supplements for inclusion in diet.
biological samples including saliva and faeces for laboratory analysis.
of pet food for analysis.
of chemicals appropriately.
trial protocols to ensure appropriate data is recorded.
labels for trial samples.
recording of data in a variety of formats (Laboratory Information Management System LIMS, excel spreadsheets and XDL).
and contribute to trial after action reviews where appropriate
in the development of new methodologies in collaboration with Research Scientists

Candidate Requirements:

in Biomedical science or a related field.
attention to detail, accuracy and quality of work
of working in a laboratory environment either through scientific qualifications or through work experience
to effectively work to deadlines
communication
site is difficult to reach so ideally need to drive.
