    Description

    Our client is a well-established and successful company they are looking for a Transformer Engineer (High Voltage Equipment Unit Engineer / HVEU Engineer) to join their team in Leeds.

    The company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment and transformer technology.

    Transformer Engineer / Transformer Technician / Transformer Installation Engineer / Power Distribution Engineer / Electrical Engineer / Electrical Technician / Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Generator Repair Engineer / etc.

    00 per hour dependant on experience + Overtime.

    45 pm Monday to Thursday (week 1) and 7.45 pm Monday to Thursday and 7.The position requires a reasonable amount of overtime to be worked throughout the UK.

    Your duties will be a combination of site-work assembly of Distribution and Power Transformers including fitting, wiring and test at site and in-house production fitting and assembly work.

    In-house fitting and assembly of various types of distribution and power transformers


    • You will prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; Assembly of components by examining connections for correct fit; From time to time, travelling to third party sites both in the UK and abroad to build up the equipment and test.
    • Reading and understanding mechanical and schematic drawings.
    • Identifying and working with others to resolve inadequate or unclear manufacturing/engineering information
    • Sometimes working abroad on special projects if the need arises
    Hands on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment is essential


    • The ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings is essential
    • Apprentice trained or a Mechanical/Electrical qualification is essential
    • Experience of Health & Safety and conducting risk assessments is essential
    • You will be flexible and adaptable and be prepared to attend site at short notice which may be outside your normal working hours
    • Ideally have up to date training on Overhead Crane/Slinging Lifting certification
    • Ideally have a FLT licence
    • Ideally IPAF certification
    • Full UK driving licence is essential
    25 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays
