    Description

    Job Title: Packaging Innovation Specialist

    Company: OM Business


    The role of packaging innovation at OM Business is vital in driving forward innovation within the categories we operate in. It plays a key role in fulfilling packaging policies of our business partners. As a Packaging Innovation Specialist, you will:

    • Collaborate with suppliers, industry leaders, and regulatory organizations to gain insights into the current and future packaging landscape.
    • Develop a packaging innovation program to enhance the skills and knowledge of the OM teams.
    • Manage the OM Packaging innovation and reduction program to ensure a continuous pipeline of innovations aligning with business needs and sustainability policies.
    • Provide technical support to solve problems, reduce customer complaints, and optimize operations to improve OM's profitability.
    • Ensure compliance with packaging regulations such as Plastic Packaging Tax and Extended Producer Responsibilities.
    • Owning data related to Packaging Waste Regulations and submissions to Regulators.
    • Collaborate closely with industry leaders and advisory organizations to stay updated on regulatory and industry changes.
    • Lead Value Engineering projects to drive profitability through key initiatives.
    • Handle packaging design and print management to align with the OM Brand Strategy.
    • Travel to sites and suppliers as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Degree/Diploma in packaging technology or extensive experience in the packaging industry, particularly in food packaging.
    • Strong creativity, innovation, and investigative skills.
    • Ability to work independently, influence others, including senior colleagues.
    • Proficiency in using various software systems/tools for data analysis and communication.
    • Experience with 3D Printers is a plus.
