An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Rotherham Foundation Trust for a Nurse Practitioner within the already well established breast care team and is an opportunity to lead, influence, shape and transform the service for women who experience breast pain.
In this role you will develop, implement and evaluate a breast pain pathway service to provide seamless and timely management for the future delivery. The successful candidate needs to be clinically credible, have experience and passion for developing this service for our Rotherham population. This varied role requires an individual who shows a methodical approach to developing a new service as well as a keen interest in supporting women who experience breast pain.
You will need to have excellent leadership skills, the ability to foster good working relationships as you will be working closely with the existing breast care team utilising their expertise in developing this service as well as working closely with the Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse and the Cancer Service Improvement Lead.
You will be liaising with partners across South Yorkshire Cancer Alliance to develop this service and expected to link in with the appropriate meetings to help to facilitate this development.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced nurse, committed, organised and an excellent communicator with verbal and written communication skills.
This is a fixed term/secondment 12 month contract full time but part time will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of the role is to develop, lead and project manage a breast pain pathway across the organisation.
To embed an effective process for providing a quality breast pain service for women affected by breast pain
Work closely with the Speciality Clinical Lead, Cancer Services Improvement team, Lead Cancer Nurse, Specialist Nurses, the wider breast team, General Surgery CSU and Primary Care colleagues forging good working relationships to develop a breast pain service
Presentation of project updates, written reports and data collection and proactively contribute to the achievement of standards/compliance of target within the speciality.
Regular networking and working with internal and external stakeholders including South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cancer Alliance
