Here at Leicestershire County Council, we have exciting opportunities available for experienced Social Workers who can start imminently if appointed, to work in the fast-paced environment of a Duty and Assessment Team. We have a few positions in either the Screening team or Assessment Team. We are seeking someone who can support us providing the right service at the right time for Children and Young People and promote positive outcomes. You will demonstrate commitment to a trauma informed approach, engaging with children, young people, and families to capture their voice and lived experiences and be able to make a robust analysis and clear recommendations to ensure a timely response and support meaningful and sustainable change. Strength-based approaches will be at the heart of your practice and strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to this role to support relationships with your peers and the children, young people, and families that you will work with. You will show creativity, innovation, and passion in your work and this will be evident in your written work which will be written to the child.
The successful candidate will work across the service as needed but will predominantly be based in either the Screening or Assessment Team. Within the service, we have opportunities to be part of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion panel and champion in areas of interest to support inclusivity and equality in the staff group as well as for the children, young people, and families that we work with. You will have monthly reflective supervision, team meetings and pod meetings to support your well-being and professional development.
About the Role
We are looking for:
Our Screening and Assessment Teams are friendly and supportive, with regular supervision and our employees have manageable workloads. The Screening Team consists of Social Workers, Senior Practitioners and Team Managers, responding to incoming worries from professionals and members of the public over the telephone and online. The Assessment Team has five pods with Team Managers, Senior Practitioners and Social Workers. The teams hold daily/weekly briefs to drive throughput and performance to promote timeliness and ensure best possible outcomes for families are achieved. We provide a comprehensive induction package with ongoing access to bespoke learning and development opportunities. This includes tailored continuous professional development sessions and access to academic research and practice expertise to develop skills, experience and inform our employee's practice.
