This body serves the UK public good by influencing and contributing to the research and development of high-quality international financial reporting standards and their adoption for use in the UK.


The Role:


The role involves the following categories of work:

  • Support the Technical team to ensure their adherence to due process, liaise with Operations Team on responding to the regulators queries in their oversight role, to ensure a timely response to requests for information.
  • Liaise with the Operations team to provide technical input into legal queries and matters.
  • Liaise with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the regulator, as necessary, to ensure timely reporting to Parliament, including development of the annual report to Parliament on the body's technical work.
  • Set up adhoc advisory groups, when necessary to deliver against the legislative requirement to consult with stakeholders who are representative of those with an interest in financial reporting
  • Deliver other allocated technical projects (which can include projects that are part of the IFRS Foundation's due process). Such projects must follow the processes set out in the body's due process handbook, can include significant outreach with stakeholdersand must be completed to set deadlines.
  • Act as Secretariat lead of an Advisory Group or working group.

The Person:


  • Ability to effectively manage a number of concurrent projects.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Ability to create, interact and maintain key external relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse competing positions and develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Good strategic and analytical thinking skills.
  • Good knowledge of the stakeholders involved in the development of IFRS and a demonstrable understanding of the standard setting process in the financial and nonfinancial reporting sphere. Knowledge of the current voluntary, nonfinancial reporting frameworksand their use by UK companies is desirable.
  • Able to interact effectively and respectfully with stakeholders.
  • Able to work as part of a team in the Secretariat and with external parties.
  • Good knowledge and demonstrable experience of working with the Companies Act 2006 and the UK's postEU Exit corporate reporting framework, including the roles played by the regulator and the body.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of government policy development, an understanding of UK Parliamentary processes and presenting regulatory reports to Parliament.
  • A track record of influencing policy development based on evidence.
