Our client based in South Mimms is looking to recruit a Lab Technician on a temporary to permanent basis. Our client is passionate about their role in improving the quality of people's lives. Their mission, their excellent science, and their strong senseof purpose guide them in all that they do.

This is a temporary to permanent position and the hourly rate will be negotiable. This role will be working 35 hours per week which will include weekend work on a rota basis.

Due to the location of this role, ideally you will have access to your own transport.


As a Lab Technician you will:

  • Assist with order preparation and dispatch procedure in compliance with Customers' expectations.
  • Assist in maintaining the production to expected levels.
  • Interface with the other departments in order to promote best practice and manage customers' expectations.
  • Assist with monitoring inventories to ensure adequate equipment supplies.
  • Produce weekly reports.
  • Support, as and when requested, the Group Leader.
  • Participate in the development of individual and group training plans.
  • Assist with the maintenance of an efficient Quality Management System.

Person specification:


  • Proven animal care experience having handled rodents.
  • Flexible attitude, willingness and ability to acquire and learn quickly new skills, new knowledge and new ways of working.
  • Ability to think strategically and able to prioritise work well.
  • Ability to adapt to situations and handle people of all capabilities and attitudes.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with other members of the team.
  • Good personal organisation.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to work under strict hygiene conditions.
