- Working closely with the Engineering Business Units and Finance Team to develop and improve accurate, timely financial reports tailored to their needs and that of the business.
- Assist the Finance Director to identify the drivers of and risks to business unit performance with tailored reports and financial analysis.
- Manage the WIP sheet for machined items and projects, updating operational forecasts and reviewing contract margins.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and management information packs to track business performance.
- Co-ordinating the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and KPIs, analysing and reporting on variances, managing tax compliance processes, SAO compliance, and the monthly and year end management accounts processes.
- Developing and measuring key financial performance indicators aligned with company strategy for continuous improvement.
- Developing financial processes, and tools for timely and effective management reporting.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
What you need for the role.- A relevant accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or relevant experience
- Good working knowledge of accounting standards and principles
- Ability to prepare management accounts from Trial Balance.
- Ability to prepare budgets and forecasts covering multiple reporting periods,
- The ability to communicate well and develop an excellent working relationship with both finance and non-finance staff at all levels across the business.
- To be able to analyse, interrogate and interpret financial reports and accounts whilst providing commercial input and challenge to the relevant management teams.
