    £115,000 - £135,000 Basic + Pension + Benefits

    Cambridgeshire (c3 days on-site plus hybrid working)

    Our client is a large public funded organisation. The need has arisen for an Interim CIO to join on a fixed-term contract basis (likely 6-12mth period). You will lead a team of c130+ across all aspects of IT including service delivery, architecture, development, cyber security, projects and change.

    The role will report to an executive board and support a diverse client group in a complex organisation. The key priorities for the incoming interim will be;

    • regain confidence across the group around the effective (and efficient) delivery of IT services (BAU).
    • assess the structure of the team and its effectiveness and restore morale and capability within the team.
    • evaluate and assess progress around a new digital strategy and make recommendations/cite priority areas to address.
    • develop and implement a robust cyber security strategy.
    • build rapport, be more present and restore confidence in the function through better stakeholder engagement and understanding the needs.
    • Help with the appointment of the next CIO and/or be considered as the long term successor appointment.
    The successful candidate will have at least some prior experience in a complex, public sector organisation (perhaps in combination with other IT leadership roles in different sectors). A strong and accomplished leader of sizeable teams (100+), you will be a "sleeves rolled up" person who can quickly assess the needs of an interim role of this nature. Most importantly, you will be able to balance the need to face off both operational and strategic challenges in a role where you need to hit the ground running.

    Likely start; June 2024, genuine opportunity to be in the mix for the longer term permanent role. Please note: This is an FTC (inside IR35) and will not be appointed through a day-rate mechanism.
