About Our Client

Polypipe Building Products is the UK's leading manufacturer of plastic piping systems and low-carbon heating solutions in the residential market. Part of the Genuit Group plc, the Building Products business designs, develops and manufactures a comprehensive range of products from 4 sites in the Doncaster area. One of Yorkshire's largest manufacturing operations, they employ over 1000 people.

Job Description

Leading a large team (via a management structure) over multiple facilities, the Operations Director will be tasked with driving a proactive and forward-thinking culture and world class customer service. Reporting into the Managing Director you will be a key member of the organisation's senior leadership team with responsibility for a significant P&L, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, Op Ex and QHSE.

The Operations Director will play an integral role in transforming this multi-site manufacturing operation They will champion intelligent use of data and continuous improvement, working closely with commercial teams on sales and operational planning.

Other responsibilities will include:

Driving a strong health & safety agenda
Full accountability for end-to-end supply chain including strategic sourcing
Challenging production metrics and driving manufacturing capacity across all sites
Empowering a high-performance culture at all levels of the organisation
Identifying and delivering a market leading customer service strategy
Ensuring full utilisation of ERP systems

The Successful Applicant

The successful Operations Director will be a proven leader with demonstrable experience in leading large, high volume manufacturing operations. They will possess a range of the following:

Demonstrable experience of leading large, fast paced manufacturing facilities
A strong lean toolbox with a background of significant positive change
A comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end supply chains with relevant experience working with commercial teams to deliver S&OP / IBP
A proven background in delivering world class customer service in a high-volume manufacturing environment
The gravitas and ambition to lead a large manufacturing business to a world-class status
A strong understanding of manufacturing systems and relevant experience of ERP systems
