    Control Systems Engineer - Plymouth, United Kingdom - iO Associates - UK/EU

    Description

    iO Associates has partnered with a multinational medical technology company specializing in the production of medical devices and instruments to seek a Control Systems Engineer.

    This role will focus on providing support for control systems to the operational technology leader, aiming at cost reduction and process enhancement.



    Control Systems Engineer:
    Plymouth, UK
    Salary up to £50,000 per year.



    Responsibilities:
    • Develop and maintain equipment software and related documentation.
    • Plan, design, and implement improvements to existing processes to enhance productivity and efficiency while mitigating risks associated with component obsolescence.
    • Innovate, design, and establish new processes to meet manufacturing needs.
    • Suggest upgrades to control systems for better equipment performance.
    • Ensure manufacturing teams have all essential software, documentation, procedures, drawings, and parts lists in the technical construction file.
    • Keep site control system specifications and equipment standards up to date.
    • Validate software and control systems as per relevant standards.
    • Support Operational Technical teams in addressing breakdowns and fault-finding.
    • Perform other duties as directed by the Operational Technology Leader.

    Skills and Experience:
    • Practical engineering experience, either through apprenticeship or a minimum of 5 years with relevant educational background (HND/HNC/Degree).
    • Experience in a related industry such as medical device manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, automotive, or special purpose machine building.
    • Proficiency in programming and fault-finding, especially with PLCs and servo-controlled equipment.
    • Familiarity with Allen Bradley, Omron, and industrial robotics equipment is beneficial.
    • Demonstrated expertise in software, control systems, and mechatronics within a relevant industry.
    • Ability to create and modify electrical drawings, preferably using AutoCAD.
