Job Description Data Protection and Information Governance Lead

Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain the skills they have lost.

The Data Protection & Information Governance Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operation and delivery of information governance (IG) and data protection (DP) within Brainkind including the IG Framework; a suite of policies, procedures, guidance, and standards covering data quality, information compliance/sharing/security and records management.

The Data Protection & Information Governance Lead will be an active member of the Legal & Compliance team, supporting the promotion and delivery of effective systems and processes across the Legal, Compliance, Risk and Information Governance framework.

To advise on and contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation-wide IG Work Plan, policies, procedures, systems, and good practice guidelines in the areas of information governance, data protection and records management and other risk management activities.

Maintain the IG and DP Risk Register (aligned with the corporate risk register) recording any risks highlighted through compliance and self-assessment audits, information breaches and other reported incidents.

Ensure the smooth implementation of information structures, processes, systems, and policies for the management of electronic information across Brainkind and support projects to improve data management and security.

Work closely with colleagues in the Legal & Compliance and Technology departments in relation to information systems and the storage of electronic records and data, both temporary and permanent

data protection or information governance qualification (such as CIPP/E or CIPM).
working knowledge of the Data Protection, ISO 27001, and other related standards in Information Governance.
