    Description

    NavLive is a newly formed spinout from theUniversity of Oxford and is backed by awardwinning technology andalgorithms. We are developing realtime spatial AI solutions for theconstruction and geospatial industries.

    We userealtime multisensor fusion and highprecision positioningtechnology to build 3D models of indoor and outdoor environments.Our tech can infer changes in insitu and provide data to facilityor site decisionmakers. We want to recruit a full stack developerto help us develop and improve our 3D mapping technology workingwith lidar and computer vision sensing to produce more accurate andimmersive reconstructions.

    Tasks

    Yourrole as a Full Stack Developer willinvolve:

    • Creatingfrontend user interfaces for both web and mobile and optimising theuser journey.
    • Writing software in C and Pythonto improve our core algorithms and data pipelines. This willinvolve both frontend and backend contributions. The idealcandidate will have experience with common UI frameworks and 3Dvisualisation tools.
    • Working with hardwareplatforms to deploy our solutions in the field. These platformsinclude mobile robots and handhelddevices.
    • Developing documentation and unittests to support the maintenance and development of ourprofessional software code base.
    • Understandinghow our core positioning and mapping technology (known as SLAM)works in different scenarios and with different sensorcombinations.

    Requirements

    Keyrequirements for thisrole:

    • Aptitude andinterest in problemsolving and debugging the acumen of rolling upyour sleeves to fix and triage technicalissues.
    • Ability to bridge UI and backenddevelopment both in cloud and localenvironments
    • Experience with backendtechnologies such as gRPC FastAPI and/orFlask
    • Experience with frontend development withtechnologies such as React andTypescript
    • Experience in deploying softwareupgrades to remote devices collecting error reports and diagnostics(or interest in learning how to do thesetasks).
    • Experience in setting up web servers orusing cloud platforms (AWS Google Cloud orAzure)
    • Interest in understanding the role andimpact of Building Information Models (BIM) in digital constructiondesign and developmentworkflow.

    The followingare desirable skills andtraits:

    • Experience withmobile robotics and sensors such as lidar vision GPS andIMUs.
    • Understanding modern algorithms forvisual and laser odometry and reconstruction including theirtypical performance and limitations.
    • Anunderstanding of how perception pipelines are built in particularthose involving 3D data such as point clouds and meshreconstructions.
    • Experience working withAutoDesks Revit application and how it is used in engineeringdesign.
    • Experience developing Androidapplications.

    Flexibility

    Whilethis role will require some onsite and inperson time much of whatwe do is structured for remote work. We most highly value excellentwork done rather than an onsite workenvironment.

    This role assumes a typical 37.5working week centred around a set of core working hours but we canoffer extra flexibility for candidates with specificconstraints.
