Community Nursing is a highly specialised area of practice recognised by the Queens Nurses Institute and NMC as a specialist role.
As a District Nurse/Senior Community Nurse, you will work within an integrated hub model of District Nurses, Specialist Nurses, Community Staff Nurses, Therapists, Trainee/Registered Nursing Associates, Associate Practitioners, and Health Care Assistants to meet the needs of the complex patient in the community and avoid admissions to the acute sector as far as practicable.
End of life care,Complex and simple wound care including VAC therapy and compression therapy,
Utilising advanced physical assessment skills and many more clinical nursing skills.
Provision of high quality, patient centred clinical care
Leading a team of Community Nurses and support staff including provision of supervision - both clinical & managerial
Working with other Band 6 District/Community Nurses to ensure adequate staffing and share resources and learning
Induction, probation & competency development of new staff recruited to team
