    JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for the nursing practice and quality of care in an operating unit/department, ensuring superior clinical outcomes, while creating an environment of compassionate, patient-centered care of the highest quality.

    PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCompletes timely patient admission and ongoing assessments, plans and updates plan of care based on individual patient needsProvides direct care and evaluates outcomes, incorporating principles of family centered careMonitors and documents patients' condition and effectiveness of care and interventionsAssesses educational needs of patients and significant others considering cultural needs and other special concernsProvides teaching and educational material to the patient and/or significant as appropriateValidates and documents patient and family understand of teachingAdministers prescribed medications in accordance with approved policies and protocols, utilizing barcode scanningCarries out prescribed treatments in accordance with approved policies, protocols and educational material proceduresPromotes a culture of shared accountability throughout organizationEnsure that nursing and clinical practice is in accordance with the mission and strategic planIncorporates principles of Transformational and Serving LeadershipFacilitates continuous readiness for local and international licensing and accreditation bodies surveysSupports caregiver engagement through application of Shared Governance principlesIdentifies opportunities to integrate Emirati Nationals into roles at CCADAppreciates strengths of cultural diversity as contributors to the success of the organizationDevelops and maintains collaborative relationships throughout and external to, CCADWork with individuals of other professions to maintain a climate of mutual respect and shared valuesCommunicate with patients, families, communities, and other health professionals in a responsive and responsible manner that supports a team approach to maintaining health and treatment of diseaseCommunicates with patients, families, visitors and vendors in a courteous, helpful manner, endeavoring to resolve issues at the unit/department levelCommunicates patient clinical information clearly and accurately, documenting pertinent information in medical record and ensuring complete documentation of patient careEngages patient and family in hand-off of clinical information and planning daily plan of care as appropriateQUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSEducationBachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification is requiredMinimum three (3) year curriculum in Nursing from an accredited program is requiredAssociate Degree Nurses from North America with evidence of passing the National exam is required (


    USA:
    NCLEX – RN & Canada: Licensing Exam)Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management or Healthcare Administration is preferredAmerican Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) board certification or equivalent postgraduate qualification in specialty area is preferredExperienceMinimum of six (6) years post-graduate Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting is requiredMinimum of six (6) years post-graduate Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting is requiredMinimum of two (2) years in a senior charge nurse position, or not less than three (3) years in a charge nurse position in acute care environment is requiredInternational accreditation experience is preferredCertification and LicensureValid and current national license is requiredBLS is required from AHA or an equivalent organization, or must be obtained within 3 months of employmentACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty is required, from AHA or an equivalent organization; or must obtain within 6 months of employment
