    At Kirklees Council Homes & Neighbourhoods, keeping our residents safe and meeting our Building Safety obligations is our top priority.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to join the Building Safety Team and deliver against our Building Safety requirements. You will be a key individual in helping to Kirklees to deliver Building Safety Cases on our 4 HRRB's.

    In addition to being a champion for building safety, you will also deliver services in your area of specialism across the stock, you will be responsible for delivering Building Safety related legislative requirements in high rise (over 18m) blocks.

    We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A comprehensive knowledge of Fire & Building Safety-related legislative, regulatory requirements and best practice;
  • Understanding of the principles of building design and key components, the fundamental principles for the structural design of buildings, and the factors that can affect structural stability and fire safety performance;
  • Information management skills to meet golden thread requirements, and the ability to prepare and maintain suitable and sufficient processes to manage physical changes in the building;
  • Substantial experience in successfully delivering against requirements in your area of specialism;
  • The ability to establish and sustain trust and confidence with residents, stakeholders, partners, communities and to promote and represent Kirklees Council Homes & Neighbourhoods positively and professionally;
  • Degree-level education, professional qualification or significant experience in your area of specialism or in a related field;
  • Up to date membership of a relevant professional body;
  • Motivational leadership skills;
  • Written communication and report writing skills;
  • Excellent verbal communication skills;
  • Project and risk management skills; and
  • Financial and numeracy skills.
