Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team within a forward-thinking local authority? West Berkshire Council is seeking two Electoral Services Officers to join our Legal and Democratic Service, reporting to the Elections and Land Charges Manager.


As an Electoral Services Officer, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality electoral services, ensuring the smooth running of elections and maintaining the accuracy of the electoral register.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting annual household canvass and registration activities to maintain the integrity of the electoral register.
  • Supporting the Elections and Land Charges Manager in the overall management of the Electoral Services function.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A good understanding of electoral legislation and procedures (previous experience in electoral services would be advantageous).
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice to a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office.
