    BMS Controls Engineer

    Location:

    Remote (occasional travel to Ashby de la Zouch)

    Contract Length:

    6-18 months

    Pay Rate:

    £400-£450 per day, outside of IR35

    Randstad Sourceright, a worldwide RPO & MSP Recruitment Services has an exciting opportunity for an experienced BMS Control Design Engineer to join a multinational technologies company that operates in over 90+ countries. They are looking for someone who fully understands the design & engineering requirements of lighting control systems for a varied range of small to very large buildings, varying in complexity.

    You will also need to have knowledge and experience of interpreting customer specifications to develop comprehensive scope packages for individual disciplines including lighting control system design, software configuration, graphic packages and installation and commissioning scope detail as well as coordinating the delivery of separate packages with both external suppliers and internal resources located locally and remotely.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Carrying out pre-sales technical surveys

    2. Ensure proper up-to-date and detailed technical records are kept and produce Project O&M Manuals.

    3. Carry out system commissioning, including field wiring checks and motor rotations, control panel adjustments such as fuse rating checks and overload settings, and carry out full control circuit.

    4. Attend as necessary any co-ordination meetings to ensure commissioning will take place to program

    5. Coordination of subcontractors and internal resources to develop & integrate lighting systems to deliver full system solutions.

    6. Fully understand the design requirements of each control system project, seek information if required, and then implement the control system design. To include, for example: Control Panel Drawings, Control point Schedules, Des of Ops, DDC Strategy and/or Graphics Details.

    Experience and Skills:

    Minimum HNC qualified in relevant discipline

    Electrical installation & control panel knowledge

    HVAC control system awareness

    Lighting control software development and best practice

    Knowledge of BMS/Lighting equipment/systems (ideally Siemens)

    Experienced in Lighting/control system design, graphic generation, panel design/production, installation and commissioning.

    Experience in Lighting systems, stand-alone controllers and energy/power monitoring systems and interpretation of client specifications into working scope document packages.

    Ability to work autonomously with a selection of key clients

    Thorough understanding of building lighting systems
