An exciting new opportunity has arisen within Hastings and Rother Assessment and Treatment Service (ATS) for a Neurodevelopmental Practitioner.Applicants will have an interest in neurodiversity and will support our ATS Service Users who have or are suspected to have neurodevelopmental needs in addition to a diagnosed mental health disorder.
We welcome applications from experienced Mental Health Practitioners with experience and skills in working with ADHD and ASC. You can be a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Speech and Language Therapist.This role will involve the completion of assessments and interventions, providing episodic co-working, consultation, training and expertise.
You will also hold a small caseload of individuals that may require a higher level of input and play a key role in linking the team in with the Trust's Transforming Care Autism Team (TCAT).This will be a great opportunity for the post holder to work alongside this highly specialist innovative team who are passionate about improving the lives of autistic people in mental health services.
TCAT will support the post holder to develop into this specialist role through providing supervision, training and shared learning experiences.
You will be working with adults aged 18 and over with a diagnosed functional mental health disorder and neuro-divergent needs.
You will be a member of the ATS multi-disciplinary team, providing consultation, advice, support to ATS colleagues in delivering reasonable adjustments to support the person in our care towards their recovery journey.
You will also provide specialist assessment and interventions to a reduced caseload of adult service users with identified or suspected neurodevelopmental and mental health needs.
The SPFT neurodivergent staff network advocates, supports and celebrates staff who may be neurodivergent.You will need to be creative and able to manage your own diary.

To undertake assessments of individuals and their families in the designated care group with complex health presentations, including those service users presenting with higher levels of risk.
To assess and manage on going risks as identified during the assessment, ensuring that this is done in collaboration with the service user and carers.
To regularly review risk factors and make changes to the management of them as necessary.To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of profession specific and local multi-professional services.
To ensure that clinical practice is evidence based and consistent with relevant NICE guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.
To provide supervision of junior staff and trainees where appropriate.
QualificationsEssentialRegistered professional either Community Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist or Social WorkerCompletion of Practice Educator CourseEvidence of continuous professional development
